Bioinformatics Core's website release 2.0
The Siteman Cancer Center Bioinformatics Core has released a new set of pages on April 05, 2006.
The main features of this release are:
- New look and feel of web pages.
- Reorganization of functionality into a new set of menus.
- Microarray chip data download will now happen offline. Once download is complete, an e-mail is sent to the investigator.
- Promoter analysis search to allow user to query for genes of interest and view statistically significant transcription factor binding sites that are conserved in evolution.

Promoter Analysis Pipeline (PAP) release
The Promoter Analysis Pipeline (PAP) search is designed to predict the transcriptional regulatory mechanism of a set of co-expressed genes. PAP pre-calculates binding sites of all the characterized transcription factors for all the promoters in the genome. A statistical model is established using these sites to compute the probability score of a particular transcription factor binding to the promoter of a particular gene. For a set of correlated genes, PAP identifies high scoring transcription factors by the hypothesis that they may be regulated by the same transcription factors. PAP also predicts other genes in the genome, which may be regulated by the same transcription factors.
