Function Express Client

Function Express provides data mining and rich visualization capabilities to view and analyze microarray data in the context of multiple publicly available gene annotation databases.
A video demo of Function Express can be downloaded from here
If you are interested in using Function Express to analyze your microarray data, please send an email to help@bmi.wustl.edu for an appointment.

Features Supported (New features in bold font)

1. Examine gene expression
In the context of functional annotations such as biological processes or molecular functions from Gene Ontology
Across different microarray experiments of one or more species.
In the context of literature-based gene networks or pathways
In the context of annotations from public domain databases such as Entrez Gene, UniGene, GeneCards, and OMIM.
In the context of interaction partners of the selected gene, as obtained from the Biomolecular Interaction Network Database (BIND).
In the context of genes that are positively or negatively coexpressed with a selected gene or probe.
Identify transcription factors of a selected gene from the Promoter Analysis Pipeline.
2. Filter genes on the basis of annotations or expression data
3. Cluster probesets /samples using different supervised / unsupervised   clustering techniques.New algorithms and viewers include Weighted Voting, Comparative Marker Selection, Consensus clustering, Principal Component Analysis and Support Vector Machines.
4. Custom Annotation Viewer: Displays large amounts of expression and annotation data in the form of a spreadsheet. Allows operations such as user defined calculations on signal values and data copy/paste.
5. Options to use clinical data associated with the experiments during data analyses and visualization of the results.
6. Save images of results in the different viewers.
7. Export results of clustering.
8. Export /import data to/from another analysis applications
9. Assign privileges or rights to other investigators for different experiments.
